Doramont Alfred "Skip" Buss, Jr., lifelong Memphis resident, musician, owner Central Academy of Music and employee of AMRO Music until the spring of this year, died September 19, 2016 in Jackson, TN. Born on November 09, 1927 to the late Doramont and Ida Buss, Sr., he was also preceded in death by two sisters, a son and daughter. Skip was a graduate of Humes High School a member of the combined classes of 1945 - 1946; attended the West Tennessee Normal School, member of the Al Chymia Shrine Temple, and was on several occasions the...

Doramont Alfred "Skip" Buss, Jr., lifelong Memphis resident, musician, owner Central Academy of Music and employee of AMRO Music until the spring of this year, died September 19, 2016 in Jackson, TN. Born on November 09, 1927 to the late Doramont and Ida Buss, Sr., he was also preceded in death by two sisters, a son and daughter. Skip was a graduate of Humes High School a member of the combined classes of 1945 - 1946; attended the West Tennessee Normal School, member of the Al Chymia Shrine Temple, and was on several occasions the King and Chairman of Carnival Memphis - The Grand Krew of Shelbi. The family will gather on Friday evening, September 23 from five o'clock until eight o'clock, funeral services will then take place Saturday, September 24 beginning at ten o'clock in the morning all at Memphis Funeral Home, 5599 Poplar Avenue, Memphis, Tennessee 38119. Burial will follow in Magnolia Cemetery, 241 Highway 51, Batesville, MS, 38606. Mr. Buss was also preceded in death by his wife Peggy Buss in 1997. He is survived by his daughter Delinda Stephens and son Gary (Melody) Buss and daughter-in-law Lisa Buss all of Memphis; grandchildren Stuart (Gina) and Kyle (Sandra) Stephens, Ashley, Dory and Karsyn Buss; and five great-grandchildren.
