Gober N. Hardwick passed away May 13th, 2017 at the age of 98. He was born in Burnsville, MS to Edna and Napoleon Hardwick Jr. His work history included farming for his father for some time then Gober moved to Mobile, AL and was a welder in the shipyards. He then moved to MS and sawmilled and eventually moved to Memphis and drove a city bus for the Memphis Street Rail Company; he began driving a truck for sears Roebuck and Company; After that he moved to Texas City, Texas and became part owner with...

Gober N. Hardwick passed away May 13th, 2017 at the age of 98. He was born in Burnsville, MS to Edna and Napoleon Hardwick Jr. His work history included farming for his father for some time then Gober moved to Mobile, AL and was a welder in the shipyards. He then moved to MS and sawmilled and eventually moved to Memphis and drove a city bus for the Memphis Street Rail Company; he began driving a truck for sears Roebuck and Company; After that he moved to Texas City, Texas and became part owner with his brother In the sheet metal fabricating business. Upon retirement, he moved back to Memphis, TN. In retirement he built wooden fences with his grandson Todd, worked at Hickory Ridge Mall running the Carousel, and worked the guard shack at Wyndke Country Club. He quit all outside to work and raise a large garden after the garden he built bluebird houses. Gober was a member of Primitive Baptist Church and Teamsters Union and Sheet Metal Workers Union. He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Captola Chinn Hardwick of Olive Branch, MS , his brothers W.T. Hardwick (Mary) of Memphis, TN and Cecil Hardwick (Joyce) of Bartlett, TN, His Daughter Denise Patton (Tom) of Spring, TX, his son Danny Hardwick (Gayle) of Southaven, MS, step son Kenny Chinn (Cecilia) of Jacksonville, FL, grandchildren are Todd Hardwick of Jewett City, CT, Kyle Hardwick of Horn Lake, MS; Mark Hardwick (Misty) of Nesbit, MS; Justin Toone of Missouri City, TX ; Dane Toone (Meghan) of the woodlands, TX; Chad Patton of Spring, TX; Kenna Chinn of Longwood, FL; Jamison Chinn (Ashley) of Deland, FL, he leaves 7 great grandchildren. A visitation will be held Tuesday, May 16th from 1:00pm to 2:00pm with a service to follow.
