Robert C. "Bob" Hathaway, 83, went home to be with the Lord Jesus Christ on June 12th while surrounded by his family. He was born in Cushing, OK. Growing up his activities included running track that continued through college and ended in the New Mexico Senior Olympics where he earned many medals. Bob was a loving husband, devoted father and grandfather, who adored his family and friends. He enjoyed reading, going to movies, going out to eat, and making model airplanes. Robert C. "Bob" Hathaway, 83, went home to be with the Lord Jesus Christ on June 12th while surrounded by his family. He was born in Cushing, OK. Growing up his activities included running track that continued through college and ended in the New Mexico Senior Olympics where he earned many medals. Bob was a loving husband, devoted father and grandfather, who adored his family and friends. He enjoyed reading, going to movies, going out to eat, and making model airplanes. He was also a passionate Oklahoma Sooners fan. Much of his Fall and Winter were spent watching TV. Bob's church home was at Bellevue Baptist Church where he was also an active and faithful Sunday school member of the Charlie Brand class. He is especially remembered for his humor. He loved nothing more than to make people laugh and put a smile on their face even if he embarrassed his family. He was in sales most of his career. Bob is preceded in death by his parents (Carl & Alice Hathaway). He is survived by his wife, Mary Ann of 56 years, daughters, Angie Coddington (Jeff) of Bartlett, TN, Mary Dahlberg (Jeff) of Minneapolis, MN, Karen Hamilton-Kaing (Mike) of Albuquerque, NM, grandchildren, Krista Coddington, Preston Coddington, Tyler Dahlberg, Robert Hamilton, Connor Dahlberg, and Rhiannon Hamilton, Great granddaughter, Paisley Jade and Aunt Esther Cowell of Jackson, MS, and several cousins. Funeral services will be held at 11 am on Friday, June 16th at Bellevue Baptist Church in Memphis, TN. Visitation will be from 10-11 am prior to the service. Interment will be at West Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery. Date & time to be determined.
